MODEL BEHAVIOR

Once upon a time, a very ancient, possibly even prehistoric time ago, artists and image makers required human bodies, most often female bodies, to pose for them to accurately capture the human form. And that is just what artists, designers, and creatives have done for centuries: capture the human form. Fast forward to a slightly less prehistoric time, at the tipping point of the fashion industry with the rise of industrialization, and thus the mass production capabilities of clothing, and fashion designers needed individuals, again, most often women to wear their garments in front of a camera for the purpose of marketing, because capitalism. This further perpetuated the objectification of women, failing to recognize their dimensionality, their dreams, their struggles, their humanity. To this day, models are seen merely as a vehicle to display and sell clothing.

Well, this is long overdue for a change, and no one loves a revolution more than CHEEKEEBEE and our CHKB Collaborators. So, this is MODEL BEHAVIOR, a discovery of  the depth of women's bodies that have been continuously objectified by the fashion industry. Through a series of interviews and images, women of all shapes, sizes, colors, religions, occupations, and abilities share their stories while simultaneously flipping the notion of "modeling" on its ass.
